"Dance is the hidden language of the soul."
-Martha Graham
Today is a very significant milestone in my life. I am privileged to have this opportunity to perform on this esteemed stage. It takes a village to raise a child. Many present here today have been instrumental in getting me on this stage today. Many encouraging words and a strong conviction together have nudged me along this challenging journey. I have enjoyed working closely with Ramya aunty who has played a myriad of roles this past year, including that of teacher, coach, friend, mentor, critic, and mother all wrapped into one. Finally, I would like to thank all of you in the audience for your encouragement and support.
Meghana, true to her name, is gusty and unstoppable, always a step ahead, leaving a mark on everyone she passes. A rising sophomore at Sage Hill High school, she is an avid debater, and she makes us laugh and cry with her vibrant persona. A keen and confident speaker, she has won many accolades though her middle school years both in debates and state science fairs. Equipped with a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, she is a fierce force to contend with in the ring.
Stocked with insurmountable energy, Meghana is as passionate about dancing as she is about sparring. She started her training in Bharata Natyam at the age of five under Guru Ramya Harishankar. Armed with a zest for succeeding and a desire for learning, she has shown commitment and dedication and has matured into a graceful young woman in the process. Through this journey, she has gleaned the value of hard work, consistency, and time management. In the future, she is eager to continue performing with the Arpana Dance Company, both locally and internationally.
It has long been her dream to ascend this stage on her Arangetram, and today is the culmination of her dream of many years.
